Corinne Mary Jurack, 78, born March 6, 1946, in Chicago, IL and died July 15, 2024 in Gillette, Wyoming, following illness related to leukemia.
Corinne is better known as Rene, a nickname she received from her younger sibling’s inability to pronounce her name. Rene lived most of her life in Lyons where her parents raised her. She graduated from St. Hugh Elementary and Nazareth Academy High School, attended Rosary College, and retired from Triton College. Rene loved her family and would do absolutely anything for her siblings and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. After retirement Rene ventured out and lived for a time in Phoenix, AZ and Battle Mtn, NV making friends wherever she went, until when missing family in Illinois, she settled in Monee.
Rene loved flowers, gardening, fishing, and her Church, St. Boniface. Although she wasn’t one to join a group or club, she was always happy to help with events, and became one of the ‘go-to’ people for assistance in getting ready for Mass, distributing Communion, and doing readings. Rene regularly visited the sick and brought Communion to their home or at the nursing home. She also was a friend and helped her neighbors by doing things like bringing mail to those who weren’t able to get out, cleaning broken branches from a driveway, putting trash cans away, or walking a dog. Her generosity was evident when she shared baking from her kitchen, produce from her garden, or rides to appointments.
Following illness at the beginning of the year, Rene went to live with her sister, Mary-Jo, and family in Wyoming. Although she was not able to do everything, she was able to enjoy the yard, front porch swing, garden, animals, and flowers for her last few months.
Rene was preceded in death by parents Johanne Jurack, and Stanley Jurack, her brothers James, and John Jurack, and nephew Mark Jurack.
She is survived by brother Tom (Barb) Jurack from LaGrange Hlds, Il; sister: Lois Clarke from Milwaukee, WI; Sister -in-law Anne Marie Jurack of Luckey, OH; sister Mary-Jo (Tom) Divis from Rozet, WY; and brother Paul Jurack from Chicago, IL. Also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews: Karyn Nagle-Matula, Mike (Lisa) Jurack, Shawn (Julia) Clarke, Amanda (Tom) Girard, Jeremy Clarke, James (Meddy)Jurack, Lindy (Brett)Wagner, Daniel (Kim Miller) Jurack, Jacob Divis, Christine (Cody)Kruger, Joe Jurack, Anne Jurack, Sara Jurack, and many grandnieces and nephews.
