It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Corinne Marie Talbot, 78, of Swartz Creek, Michigan, following a courageous ten-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born in Owosso, Michigan, to James and Donna (Bruckman), Corinne was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Gary Talbot (Carol) and Daniel Talbot.
Corinne graduated from St. Paul’s Catholic High School in Owosso, Michigan. After earning her bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University, she taught junior high in the Tawas/Oscoda Intermediate School Districts for 12 years. She moved to Swartz Creek, Michigan, in 1980 and retired from Powers Catholic High School after 35 years teaching AP History and English, as well as serving as yearbook editor.
Family was Corinne’s passion. Following her mother Donna’s passing in 1984, she consistently provided steadfast support to her father, James, acting as both his advocate and main source of assistance. Additionally, she tried to fulfill the occasional lost matriarch roles during that period. Later she met the unexpected loss of her brother Dan (52) in 2004 with resilience and love. And again in 2013, following the loss of her brother Gary (63). She eventually had to face her own mortality after receiving her Alzheimer’s diagnosis in 2016. Her final three years, she received compassionate care at StoryPoint Abbot Park's memory care facility in East Lansing, Michigan. She will be remembered as a woman of unfaltering kindness and compassion, and an end of an era in our lives.
Corinne is survived by her daughter Carin (Daniel) Morse and their three children Devon, Ryleigh, and Jacob; her sister Patsy Talbot; nephews, Ryan Browning, Jason Browning (Chana), Danny Talbot and Brian Talbot (Sarah), and nieces, Tracy Talbot, Lisa Talbot-Ded (Gurdish), and Julie Hetfield (Doug). Additionally, Corinne was considered an extended part of the Morse family, including birthdays, weddings, and holidays. She was also honored and quick to provide occasional and needed help with transportation, grandmotherly-type support or any task needing a little extra love.
A memorial service celebrating Corinne’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, Michigan, 48473. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
