Corky was not just a friend but part of my family. My brother, George Burruss, met Corky in first grade that grew into an amazing friendship. Our family shared birthdays, weddings, anniversary parties, funerals, and just good visits. He was compassionate, supportive and great company.I have had the joy of hearing my brother tell Corky stories that would be an award-winning TV sitcom. I feel so lucky to have had this extraordinary man as part of my family.

I am sorry to hear of Cork's passing. I enjoyed working with Cork during the years that I was on MSMA Council. I had intended to attend the visitation, unfortunately, both Jana and I have developed an URI.

Dear Swarens family,I am so sorry for your loss. I heard the sad news from MSMA. Cork was a great boss while I was working for the medical society. He was very wise and taught me many things which benefitted me greatly in my work with ACOG and AAP. I shall always remember him as a true mentor. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time, please accept my heartfelt condolences. Johanna Derda in Atlanta
