Mr. Corlis T. Williams, age 77, of Tallapoosa, GA, passed away October 10, 2025. He was born April 24, 1948 in Muscadine, AL to the late Jasper and Vertie Smith Williams. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings and their spouses, Otilla and Arlin Biggers, Dorothy and Cecil Hulsey, Horace and Lorene Williams, Edward and Flora Mae Williams, Irene Hallman, Mary Ellen and Buddy Biggers, and Billy Williams; seven nephews; and one niece.
Corlis graduated high school in 1966 from Fruithurst High School. Shortly after he was drafted into the United States Army, serving his country in Germany during the Vietnam War. Upon his return home, he went to work at American Thread Company in Tallapoosa, where he stayed until its closing. He then worked and retired from The Hon Company after over 25 years of service. After he retired he became a beloved unpaid employee at Many Parts and the Turnaround in Tallapoosa.
Corlis divided his life between Haralson and Cleburne counties, watching over his extensive family. He took his role as uncle to his sibling's families seriously. He helped what became a very large family stay connected. He rarely missed a family gathering and always enjoyed a good story, a good long visit, and a good laugh. Family and Alabama football were his two great loves and he was an avid supporter of both. Best of all, Corlis found The Lord late in life and was a regular attendee of Mt. Paran Baptist Church. His family will miss his visits, unmistakable laugh, and presence in their lives, but they are thankful for the gift of his life and the love he showed to each of them.
Corlis is survived by his brother in law, Austin Hallman; 16 nieces and nephews; and many great, great great, and great great great nieces and nephews.
