Mrs. Betty Sue Carter Pierce, age 84, of Mt. Zion, GA, passed away October 5, 2025. She was born September 10, 1941 in Atlanta, GA to the late Thomas Richard "TR" Carter and Katherine Lecroy Ryan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Pierce and siblings, Virginia Betsell and Richard Carter.
Betty Sue worked for many years as a Housekeeper for Haralson Nursing and Rehab. She was a devoted homemaker and mother, so much so that most people lovingly referred to her as "Mama." She loved to garden and tend to her flowers and enjoyed camping and going on excursions with her daughter and son in law, Leslie and Keith.
Betty Sue is survived by daughters and son in law, Denine Pierce, of Waco, GA and Leslie and Keith Pike, of Mt. Zion, GA; sons and daughter in law, Kenneth and Linda Pierce, Michael Pierce, all of Waco, and Lynn Pierce, of Piedmont, AL; granddaughters, Marie King, Katrina Warren, Betty Owens, and Kelsey Carroll; numerous great grandchildren; and her sister, Linda Lou Hackney, of Winston, GA.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at 2:00PM in the Miller Funeral Home Dogwood Chapel with Rev. Anthony Puckett officiating. A eulogy will be given by Keith Pike. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Pierce, Ryan Carroll, Cody Owens, Brian King, Tristan King, and James Pierce. Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00PM until the funeral hour.
