Cornelius Clancy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bradley Funeral Home - Marlton on Mar. 3, 2026.
Cornelius Clancy, 94, of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, formerly of Marlton, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026. Born on February 7, 1932, in County Cork, Ireland, to the late Jeremiah and Mary Clancy. Cornelius's life was a testament to the enduring strength of family, friendship, and faith.

Predeceased by his beloved wife of 67 years, Christine Clancy née O'Sullivan, his daughter, Mary Clancy; his grandson Dylan; and his siblings, Kate, Siobhan "Joan", Mary, Patrick, Margaret, and Nora. Cornelius's legacy is carried forward by his loving children, Tony (Jacqueline), Eileen (Kerry), Patrick (Darcy), and Neil (Paul). His spirit lives on in the laughter and love of his adored grandchildren, Kristin (Justin), Dana (Ryan), Ryan, Parker (Victoria), and Brett (Kat), as well as his treasured great-grandchildren, Liam and Kian. His siblings, Jerry Clancy (Maureen) and Annie Dowd, along with many devoted nieces, nephews, and extended family, will fondly remember his thoughtful nature and generous heart.

Embracing the values instilled in him, he ventured into the world of finance, where he held various management roles at Janney Montgomery Scott, culminating in a well-deserved retirement in the late 1990s. His professional acumen was matched only by his commitment to his community, as evidenced by his active participation in the Evesham Township zoning board.

A man of deep faith, Cornelius was a past parishioner of Our Lady of Peace in Fords, NJ, and most recently a parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Church in Marlton, NJ. His devotion to his faith was paralleled by his involvement with the Knights of Columbus, where he found fellowship and purpose.

Cornelius's interests were a reflection of his love for people and his Irish heritage. He relished the simple pleasure of dining out with his family, sharing stories, and creating memories. He enjoyed the camaraderie of friendly games of poker with his friends. His heart always remained close to his Irish roots, and he cherished his trips back to Ireland to reconnect with family and friends.

Above all, Cornelius was known for his charitable spirit and his unwavering desire to help those in need. His thoughtful and generous nature was evident in every aspect of his life, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date.
