Inyan Luta "Red Stone", Cornelius Evan Iron Cloud "Corny", was the proud son of the late Thomas and Rita Iron Cloud. Cornelius was born on July 2, 1962 at
Fort Yates, ND. Little Old Creek (out in the country) is where he called home. He enjoyed being outside on a beautiful day, swimming, boxing and playing on the bunking barrel. What he loved most was horse back riding and helping with ranching and if you couldn't find him he would be at his Auntie Mazzie's house helping with anything she needed.
Cornelius had a one of a kind sense of humor, his laugh and smile were contagious.
He took great pride in who he was and the family he came from-Mahpiya Maza. As Corny got older he established a home and family in
Winterhaven, CA where he had four children. While in California he continued to work as a rancher. Cornelius joined the work force as a BIA Firefighter and later was hired for maintenance for Quechan Housing.
Corny was a very traditional man as he enjoyed attending Pow-Wow's and gatherings. During a time, he held his father's eagle fan. Tradition was the thing he never left out. He made sure his children were taught family traditions, Hunkpapa Sioux and Quechan.
After returning to Standing Rock, he would always introduce his kids to the family. As he became a grandfather, he loved spending his time and helping in any way he could. He was a great protector to his family. Cornelius was known for his cooking and baking. He always made sure everyone had something to eat. He will be greatly missed.
