Cornelius Fahy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin on Apr. 25, 2025.
Cornelius "Con" Ambrose Fahy, 79, of Norfolk, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, as he wished, on Wednesday morning, April 23, 2025.
Con was born on April 8, 1946 in Cork, Ireland, son of the late Joseph and Maura (Canty) Fahy. Con was self-employed and worked as a master bricklayer and 9th generation stone mason. He represented his country at the 1966 international trade Olympics in Utrecht, Netherlands, winning a silver medal.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen (O'Gorman), his son Paul and his wife Stephanie of Bristow, VA, his daughter Moira of Cumberland RI, his daughter Helena and her husband Sean of Boca Raton, FL, his son Niall and his wife Megan of Menands, NY and his son Stephen and his wife Bridget of Darien CT.
He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Sarah, Alexa, Ciaran, Rowan, Connor, Skylar, Finn, Caroline and Martha.
He is further survived by his brothers, Joe and Jack of Cork, Ireland and is predeceased by his brother, Eddie, also of Cork, Ireland.
To provide a better future for their kids, Con and Helen emigrated to America in 1985. Initially joining the bricklayer's union, Con rapidly found success and went on to form his own construction company, Con Fahy & Sons, which gained recognition and respect within the greater Boston area.
Con was a friend of Bill W. for over 48 years, and was loved and respected by all for his tireless work and service to those in the fellowship. He will be remembered as a man of great faith, devoted to his family and friends, who was always willing to help anyone he met in life. Con had a profound presence in the lives of so many, and he will be missed dearly by all who knew him and never far from our memory.
Visiting hours are on Thursday, May 1, from 4 to 7pm at Ginley Funeral Home, 131 Main St., Franklin, MA.
The funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 2 at 10am at St. Jude's Catholic Church, 86 Main St, Norfolk, MA.
Burial will be in Norfolk Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul at
