CORRINE Lavonne Hamilton, a loving mother, wife, friend, and woman of faith, passed away on September 16th, 2026 at the age of 88. She was born on April 7, 1938, in
Chicago, Illinois, and eventually made
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, her home, where she spent the rest of her life.
To know CORRINE was to know how deeply she loved her family. Her three children, Mark, Cheryl, and Donna, were the most important people in her life. She loved them dearly, and spending time with them brought her great joy. Her relationship with each of her children was especially close-more than simply that of a mother and her children, they shared the comfort, trust, and companionship of true friends. She enjoyed talking with them, laughing with them, and sharing the everyday details of life. She treasured frequent visits and phone calls and loved simply knowing what was happening in their lives. Family get-togethers were among her favorite things throughout her life, giving her the opportunity to be surrounded by the people she loved most. Those everyday moments of connection meant so much to her and were among the things she valued most.
It was later in life that CORRINE met Bill Hamilton, the love of her life. Their time together was a special gift, and they shared many wonderful years as husband and wife. They truly enjoyed being together and found happiness in the simple things in life. One of the things that made their relationship so special was how much they loved to laugh. They could find something funny in the most ordinary moments and knew how to have fun together. Their love, friendship, and shared laughter created countless memories that will always be treasured.
CORRINE had a wonderful sense of humor and loved making funny comments and finding opportunities to make people laugh. She was also a lot of fun to tease because she never took herself too seriously. She could take a joke as well as she could give one, and she often made teasing even more fun with her quick and unexpected responses. Her playful personality and sense of humor brought laughter to those around her and made spending time with her especially enjoyable.
CORRINE was naturally friendly and outgoing and never seemed to meet a stranger. She loved talking to people wherever she went-even in the grocery store-and had a genuine interest in getting to know others. Throughout her life, she formed many meaningful friendships, and those friendships meant a great deal to her. The people who became her friends sincerely loved her, and many remained her friends for life. She had a special way of making people feel comfortable, welcomed, and cared for.
CORRINE was also a woman of faith, and her faith was an important part of her life. She found joy in many of life's simple pleasures. She loved gardening and especially enjoyed her flowers. She also loved her home dearly and took great pleasure in decorating it and making it a warm, welcoming place for herself, her family, and her friends. Her home reflected her personality and the care she put into creating a place filled with beauty and comfort. She loved to cook and was a wonderful cook, with homemade soups among her favorite things to make. Sharing food and caring for the people she loved was one of the ways she expressed her love.
CORRINE had a special place in her heart for animals, and her little dog, Gidget, held an especially precious place in her life. The bond they shared was extraordinary-the kind of deep, devoted connection that can exist between a person and a beloved dog. Gidget was CORRINE's best friend and constant companion, and the two of them brought one another comfort, joy, and unconditional love. CORRINE loved Gidget dearly, and it was difficult for her to think about leaving her best friend behind when her own life came to an end. Gidget will remain a cherished part of CORRINE's memory and of the love she leaves behind.
When her family and friends think of CORRINE, they will remember her loving heart, warm personality, faith, laughter, and the way she made people feel that they mattered. They will remember a woman who loved her children deeply, shared a friendship-like closeness with them, treasured her husband, cherished family get-togethers, cared about her friends, enjoyed talking to people, tended her flowers, lovingly decorated her home, cooked for the people she loved, adored Gidget, and found happiness in the simple things.
Most of all, CORRINE will be remembered for the love, laughter, and joy she brought into the lives of those around her. She formed friendships that lasted a lifetime, cherished her family, and knew how to find humor and happiness in everyday moments. Those who knew her will carry those memories-and her laughter-with them.
CORRINE is survived by her three beloved children, Mark, Cheryl, and Donna, along with the many family members and friends whose lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever loved.
