Corrine Dawn Johnson

Corrine Dawn Johnson, age 76, formerly of Lake Park, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, at Serenity Assisted Living and Memory Care in Dilworth, Minnesota, surrounded by her loving family and her faithful dog, Bella.

Corrine was born on May 9, 1949, in Hillsboro, North Dakota, to Ernie and Sylvia Renfrew. She was baptized at Halstad Lutheran Church and spent her early years in Halstad, Minnesota, before moving with her family to Moorhead, Minnesota. She graduated from Moorhead High School and later attended Moorhead State University.

Corrine began her working years at Pioneer Mutual Life Insurance Company and WDAY. In 1970, she married Daniel Johnson. Together, they raised three children—Missy, Maari, and Chris—and became business owners in Moorhead, operating children’s and teen clothing stores known as Tots and Teens and The Tot Shop.

In 1980, the family moved to Lake Park, Minnesota, where Corrine gained a deep appreciation for the outdoors and found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved gardening and tending to her flowers, taking pride in watching them grow and bloom. One of her favorite pastimes was cutting the grass—an activity she found both calming and satisfying. She was employed for many years at Sunnyside Nursing Home. There, she touched countless lives through her compassion, warmth, and dedication to those in her care.

In 1992, she returned to Moorhead and continued her caregiving career at Moorhead Healthcare Center, where she worked faithfully until her retirement. She cherished the winter months spent in Arizona with her companion, Cameron Ullrich, where she enjoyed the warmth of the sunshine and treasured time with her grandchildren, Colton and Caden Dosmann. She also enjoyed music, dancing, shooting pool, fishing in calm waters and riding motorcycle.

In the spring of 2022, Corrine moved into Serenity Assisted Living, where she remained until her passing. She developed a deep love for the staff, who became like family and helped make her final years meaningful.

Corrine is survived by her children, Missy Dosmann, Maari (Jon) Boatman, and Chris Johnson (Erin LaForge); her grandchildren, Colton and Caden Dosmann; her brother, John Renfrew (Brenda); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she adored.

She was preceded in death by Dan Johnson; her parents, Ernie and Sylvia Renfrew; her sisters, Sharon Johnson and Linda Barth; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were surely waiting to welcome her home.

A prayer service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Korsmo Funeral Service in Moorhead, Minnesota. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
