Corrine S. Ledford, 93, of Murphy, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024, at the Hayesville House in Hayesville, North Carolina. Corrine was born January 14, 1931, in McCaysville, Georgia to Stanton and Effie Queen Parris.
Corrine was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Ledford; sons, Randy Ledford, Donnie Ledford, and Gary Ledford; siblings, William Parris, Mary Parris West, Joann Parris Towe, Buddy Parris, Denny Parris, and Linda Parris.
She is survived by her sons, Rick (Stephanie) Ledford, Ronnie (Sue Lynn) Ledford; daughter, Kelly (Derrick) Kimsey; daughter-in-laws, Jane Ledford, Yvonne Ledford, and Catherine Smith; Grandchildren, Lauren Ledford, Gracie Ledford, Sarah Ledford, Chris (Amy) Ledford, Katrina Ledford, Leslie Ledford, Daniel (Chasity) Ledford, Ben (Sara) Ledford, Logan Ledford, Bryson Kimsey, Connor Kimsey, Cora Kimsey; great-grandchildren AnnaKate Ledford, Lyndsey Ledford, Olivia Ledford, Kristin (Jesse) Hunt, Kaitlyn Davenport, Corbin Davenport, Caleb Ledford, Ella Ledford, Jude Ledford, Farah Ledford, Eloise Ledford, Emmett Ledford; great-great-grandchildren Jaycee Hunt and Klay Hunt; brother, Tommy Parris; sister, Brenda Gore. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Corrine, also known to her family as "Mamaw," was known for her mild and sweet temperament. She enjoyed cooking and loved sharing meals with her family. She was very artistic and could craft just about anything. Corrine has taught many how to quilt over the years. She was known and loved by many for her years as the "greeter" at Walmart. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and loved the Lord deeply. She enjoyed gospel and bluegrass music, especially in her later years. The Hayesville House became home to Corrine in the last few years and many of the workers referred to her as "mamaw" as they became part of her family, particularly Hannah Jones who became like her very own "granddaughter."
Funeral Service, on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 5:00 PM at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home - McCaysville Chapel, with Rev Don Padgett officiating. Music provided by Stephanie Murphy.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Chris Ledford, Daniel Ledford, Ben Ledford, Logan Ledford, Bryson Kimsey, Connor Kimsey, Corbin Davenport, Caleb Ledford, and Jesse Hunt.
Interment will follow at Temple Baptist Church in Murphy, North Carolina.
The family will receive friends at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home - McCaysville Chapel on Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
