Corwin Edison Farris, 80, of Bessemer City, passed away peacefully on December 19 at Covenant Village in Gastonia. He was born August 7, 1944.
He attended Tryon High School. After a successful career at Warner & Swasey, he founded Farris Fab. & Machine, Inc. in 1976 and was also a founder of H & W Systems (Turbo Conveyor).
He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Gloria Flowers Farris, his parents Lester and Lois Furtick Farris, and his sister Carol Smith.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Bryan Farris and wife Jami, and Greg Farris and wife Ginna; his grandchildren of whom he was so proud, Lauren Farris, Jessica Farris (husband Kanaan), Brandon Farris (fiancée Hannah Hunley), Will Farris, Justin Farris, Jackson Farris, and Wynn Farris; his siblings, Billy Farris (wife Patsy), Debbie Homesley, Tim Farris (wife Betty), and Sylvia Null (husband Jeff); and his nieces and nephews.
At his request, there will be a private family service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church, 1534 Rolling Meadows Lane, Gastonia, NC 28054.
