Corwyn Jane Johnson

Johnson, Corwyn Jane age 90, passed away peacefully at the MN Masonic Home on Feb 25, 2023. Corwyn was born in Mpls on Oct 20, 1932. She graduated from Patrick Henry HS, pursued degrees in Music, Child Development & Sociology at Augsburg. Corwyn was an accomplished pianist who shared her love of music with all. Corwyn and her beloved husband Bill were married in 1956. They were actively involved in the Zuhrah Shrine, enjoyed travel, and loved their cabin in Annandale. Corwyn was instrumental in helping develop La Crèche Childhood Centers in Mpls which provide care for children. Corwyn brought her love of music to children, was nationally recognized for writing children's curricula, and served on the board for Child Development at the North Henn Tech College. She earned awards for her commitment to children and families in need. Corwyn is survived by nieces, Barb Austin (Jeff) and Cathy Saari, nephews, Tom Saari (Dianna), Dave Saari (Laurie), and Eric Saari (Jamie), and many great-nephews/nieces. Corwyn was preceded in death by her husband Bill, brother Ken Saari and sister in laws Aina Saari and JoEllen Benson and great-nephew Michael Austin. A Memorial Service will be held at the Masonic Home at a later date. Memorials to La Crèche Childhood Center in memory of Corwyn Johnson.
