Cory Alan Ames

Cory Alan Ames, 53, of Francesville, IN passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 12, 2026 at IU Health Hospital in Lafayette, IN. He was born on March 3, 1972 in Valparaiso, IN to Dillar and Patricia (Chester) Ames, Jr. In 1990, Cory graduated from West Central High School. After high school, he served in the US Army. On December 4, 1999, he married Susan Ingram in Francesville. Cory was currently employed as a fuel driver for Keystone in Rensselaer, IN. He worked hard throughout his life and had a passion for driving truck.
Cory always had a "can do" attitude! No matter what the situation was, he would find a way to make it better, make it work, and get it done. There was nothing he couldn't do and nothing he didn't have an answer for. Cory was always willing to help others. He was loved by many and known by many more. Cory connected with people in a variety of different ways. He made bonds with people that will be remembered forever. Through all the memories, good or bad, Cory made a difference in the lives of others. He will be remembered by racers, tow truck operators, truck drivers, and many more.
Cory was a beloved son, husband, father, Peepaw, and brother who loved his family dearly and always backed his children and their choices. He attended as many of their sporting events as he could and supported all of their hobbies. Although our family is heartbroken, we know Cory would not want us to cry – he would want us to come together, support each other, be strong, and love one another. Our family has lost an amazing soul way too soon.

Visitation will be from 11 AM – 2 PM EST Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Frain Mortuary in Francesville, IN.
Following visitation, cremation will take place at Frain Crematory in Winamac, IN.
The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the West Central Athletic Department.
