Coyla B. Dahms

Coyla B. Dahms, age 99, of Lena, Illinois passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Mercy Health-FHN Hospital in Freeport, Illinois. She was born on November 27, 1926, in rural Orangeville, Illinois to Orville and Gladys (Reeser) Barker.

On May 31, 1947, she was united in marriage to Edgar Dahms. Among her many roles in life, Coyla was a dedicated homemaker and a hardworking farm wife. She also worked at Burgess Battery in Freeport and Ammon's Turkey Farm in Winslow.

She was a devoted member of the McConnell Community Church, where she was active in Church life. She was a member of Ladies Aid and E.U.B.

She is survived by her beloved husband Edgar; daughters; Janice (Steve) Andersen and Lynette (Robert) Mullhall. Five grandchildren; Bobbie (Keith) Bohne, Ryan (Amy) Mulhall, Timothy Mulhall, Carrie (Jacob) Eilders and Amanda (Eric) Muder. Six great grandchildren; Taylor Bohne, Caityln Mulhall, Ana Mulhall, Elijah Eilders, Emily Eilders and Chrislyn Muder. Two step-grandchildren; Hayden and Teighan Muder.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; Vera and Lela, one brother; Viles.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the McConnell Community Church.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 until the time of service at the church.

Pastor Roger Bronkema will officiate.

Burial will be at Salem Shippee Cemetery in McConnell.

Luncheon to be held at McConnell Community Church.

A memorial has been established in her name.
