Malon "Dwaine" Everett, age 75, passed away on June 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of service, dedication, and unwavering love for his family and community. Born on August 17, 1949, in Dacula, Georgia, Dwaine devoted his life to helping others.
Dwaine was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a Sergeant for the Gwinnett County Police Department then later retired as Corporal with the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department. As a chaplain, he provided guidance and support to those in need. His passion for education led him to establish the GED program at the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department, ensuring that individuals had the opportunity to build a better future.
Dwaine was a devoted member of Winder Church, where he found strength in his faith and shared that strength with others. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, cherished deeply by all who knew him. His kindness, wisdom, and generosity touched many lives, leaving behind memories that will be treasured forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Malon C. Everett and Cora A. Everett, as well as sisters Elizabeth Tullis and Joann Boss. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Nancy Stovall Everett of Bethlehem; his daughter, Tracy Jarrell of Jefferson; his brother, Michael Everett of California; his special nephew, Greg Tullis of Bethlehem; his grandchildren, Brittany Jarrell and Brandan Jarrell of Jefferson; and great-grandchildren Trinitte Jarrell, Serenity Jarrell, Reigne Kemp, Anthony Young, and Gabriel Amphy.
The Funeral service will be held at Maddox-Carter Memorial Home on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11 AM with Pastor Steve Price officiating. Interment will take place at Gwinnett Memorial Park with Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department rendering Law Enforcement Honors. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 5pm to 8pm at Maddox-Carter Memorial Home.
