Charles Robert Silas, Jr., 87, of Kingsport, passed away Monday, September 1, 2025. C.R. was born in Bristol, VA, to the late Charles and Nana Silas. He was one of three siblings. C.R. graduated from Slater High School and went into military service, infantry in the Army. Upon returning to civilian life, he began his career at Eastman- Railroad Division, later retiring after 35 years of service. He enjoyed spending his free time in retirement as a referee for several sports, but mostly football. C.R. was an avid Tennessee Vols fan and enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Christine Anderson Silas; granddaughter, Alysia Silas; and brother, Ben Silas.
He is survived by his son, Charles Silas III and wife Becky; great-granddaughter; Mildrea Silas; brother, William Silas; nieces, Sharon Silas, Karen Silas, Marsha Silas, Renee Macleod, and Laura Silas.
Services will be announced at a later date.
