It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Craig Javan Bell, Jr., who left this world on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the age of 31. Born on July 31, 1993, in Jacksonville, Florida, Craig was a cherished son, father, brother, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
Craig was the beloved son of Craig Javan Bell, Sr. and Claudette Banks-Harper. He grew up surrounded by family and friends in Jacksonville, where he attended Duval County Public Schools. His love for learning was evident from a young age, and his calm, cool, and collected demeanor endeared him to teachers and classmates alike.
As a father, Craig found his greatest joy in his daughter, Cruze Bell. His dedication to her well-being and happiness was unwavering, and he cherished every moment they spent together. He was a genuine person who created a loving environment filled with laughter and warmth.
Craig is preceded in death by his loving family members, Effie Bell, Larry Banks, Eugene Bell, Errand Bell, Sr., Albert Bell, and Gloria Stroud. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, survived by his mother, Claudette Banks-Harper; father, Craig Javan Bell, Sr. (Kathy); and his siblings, Brandon Johnson, Trishanda Bentley, Chezaray Bell, Edith Kibler, and Deangelo Stephens-Bell. He is also survived by special family members Alvin Harper and Cynthia Bell-Jackson, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many sorrowing friends who will forever hold him dear in their hearts.
In addition to his roles as a devoted father and loving son, Craig was known for his passion for cooking and his impeccable sense of style. He enjoyed creating delicious meals that brought family and friends together, always showcasing his love for others through the food he prepared. His ability to dress well and present himself with confidence was a reflection of his genuine nature and care for how he made others feel.
Craig was a calm and collected individual, a trait that drew people to him in times of joy and sorrow alike. His genuine personality made a lasting impact on those who crossed his path, and his memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.
As we say goodbye to Craig Javan Bell, Jr., let us remember him for his kindness, his love for family, and the joy he brought into our lives. His spirit, though gone, will live on in our hearts forever. May he rest in peace.
