Craig Matthew Brannon, 65, of Maplewood Minnesota, passed away peacefully on October 9th, 2025, surrounded by family, after a long battle with prostate cancer.
Craig was born on August 10th, 1960 to Dorothy and Rodney Brannon in Wells, Minnesota. He graduated from Columbia Heights High School in 1979. He later earned both his Bachelor's and Master's in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. Craig worked as Analog/ Mixed Signal Design Engineer for over 33 years, where he was awarded 17 patents for his designs.
Craig married his high school sweetheart Jeanine, who he then spent 48 wonderful years together, or as Craig would say, their entire adult lives. They would have 3 children, who he loved being a father to. Craig was best known for his intellect, his love of the cabin, and being a superman to his children. He enjoyed being active with his favorite activities being cycling along with skiing, both water and snow. He was also active in the community, coaching his children's sports and robotics teams, as well as volunteering for 30 years as a Parks and Recreation Commissioner for Maplewood.
Craig is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanine; their three children and partners, Jeffrey (Katrina), Alyssa (Michael) Reed, and Kevin (Amanda); his mother, Dorothy; and his siblings, Scott (Wanda) and Sue (Steve) Hommeyer. As well as far too many loving friends and family to list. He was preceded in death by his father, Rodney Brannon.
Craig was first diagnosed with prostate cancer 11 years ago, for most of that time, he responded well to a series of treatments that allowed him to enjoy an active life, always with a positive attitude, and giving heart. Therefore, Craig's family has requested that in lieu of flowers that family and friends can make a monetary donation to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, or a blood donation to the American Red Cross.
Visitation 2-4 PM Saturday, October 18th at Oakwood with a Celebration of Live service at 4:00 PM. Craig has also asked that this be a celebration of his life, so please wear whatever makes you happy.
Craig's kindness, brilliance, and dedication to his family and community will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
The celebration may be viewed live starting at 4:00 PM Saturday
