Craig passed away on February 22, 2026 at the age of 71 in Littleton, Colorado.
Craig was born in Berkeley California to Holly and Martin Chase. He had two sisters; Carol McElheney and Jacqueline Chase DeBrito. He grew up in La Jolla California where he spent his childhood exploring the fields and open land near his home, and scuba diving and fishing near the La Jolla cove.
He attended Humboldt State University in California where he met his wife, Lisa. They got married over spring break in 1976 when they were both seniors in college. After they graduated, Craig and Lisa traveled to Chile with the Peace Corps from 1977-1978.
Craig and Lisa moved to Colorado in 1985 with their two daughters, Holly and Melanie, when Craig left commercial fishing and began his software engineering and programming career.
Craig loved being in the outdoors. He was an avid golfer, and also spent his time exploring the beautiful landscapes around his home in Roxborough. He loved learning and sharing his knowledge. After he retired from Lockheed Martin, he became a volunteer with Colorado Parks and Wildfire at Waterton Canyon, where loved chatting with visitors about the plants and animals living in that area.
Craig was a wonderful, loving grandpa to his three grandchildren, Tao, Teddy, and Jo.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
