Craig Cherry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J.T. Fisher Funeral Services - Chesapeake on Dec. 12, 2025.
CRAIG CHERRY a beloved father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, passed away at his home in Hopkins, South Carolina on December 6, 2025.

CRAIG was born October 9, 1969, in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late Charlie Turner, Jr. and Carol C. Earl. He was the youngest of four siblings.

CRAIG recently allowed The Lord to enter into his heart where he experienced the peace of God.

He was a native of Portsmouth and Chesapeake, Virginia. He always had a beautiful heart and he was a people person. He was known to be able to make people laugh...he was such a fun person. One could never be sad around him because it wasn't long before he had them laughing. Craig loved his family and was always professing it to them.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Turner, Jr., his grandparents, Joseph and Helen Credle, his grandmother, Willie Mae Williams and his beloved aunt, Jean Rogers.

CRAIG leaves to cherish him memory, his son, Craig Cherry, Jr., whom he loved dearly; his mother, Carol C. Earl; stepfather, William H. Earl, Jr.; stepmom, Deborah Simmons of Kingsland, GA; sisters, Renita Cherry-Thomas of Suffolk, VA, Camilla Wise (Robert) of Portsmouth, VA, Donna Cherry of Smithton, IL, Twyla Starks of Norfolk, VA; brother, James Cherry, Jr. (Alice) of Hopkins, SC; stepbrothers, William Earl, III (Christine) of Chesapeake, VA, Kenneth Earl (Adrian) of Virginia Beach, VA, Chris Earl (Clarrisa) of Chesapeake, VA, Scott Cherry of Raleigh, NC; two grandchildren, Arabella Burnett and Zayden Lane-Headen, both of North Carolina; nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
