Craig "Bones" Allen Dauer was born on June 9, 1956, in New Ulm, Minnesota. He was the son of Clarence A. and Dolores (Dummer) Dauer. Craig was baptized as an infant, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth both at Holy Trinity Cathedral in New Ulm, Minnesota. He received his education in New Ulm and was a graduate of the New Ulm High School Class of 1974. Craig furthered his education at Mankato Technical College in Mankato, Minnesota. On June 9, 1979, Craig was united in marriage to Diane Ranweiler at St. George Catholic Church in rural New Ulm. This marriage was blessed with two children, Jeremy and Shelly. Craig and Diane resided in New Ulm, Minnesota and later moved to Hutchinson, Minnesota in 1995. They shared over 33 years of marriage. Craig was employed at Hutchinson Technology, Inc. in the Tool and Die Department as a Toolmaker. His most recent employment was with 3M Company in Hutchinson as a Maintenance Mechanic. Craig attended St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson. He was a chapter member of South Central A.B.A.T.E. Craig enjoyed hunting and fishing, motorcycling, building and restoring mini bikes and choppers. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Craig lost his courageous battle with lung cancer and passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice Home in Chaska, Minnesota, at the age of 56 years. He will be dearly missed. Craig is survived by his: Wife, Diane Dauer of Hutchinson, MN; Children, Jeremy Dauer of Hutchinson, MN, Shelly Dauer of Hutchinson, MN; Sister, Joyce Dauer of New Ulm, MN; Brother, Keith Dauer and his wife, Kimberly of Mankato, MN; Father-In-Law, Norbert Ranweiler of Gibbon, MN; Brothers-In-Law, Steven Ranweiler and his wife, Kim of New Ulm, MN, Eugene Ranweiler of Gibbon, MN; Many other relatives and friends. Craig is preceded in death by his Father, Clarence A. Dauer; Mother, Dolores (Dauer) Hahn; Brother-In-Law, Wally Bauer; Uncles, Leo Dauer, Bernard Dauer; Aunt, Esther Dauer; Mother-In-Law, Mary Ranweiler.
