CRAIG JAMES ELLIS, 56, was born NOVEMBER 27, 1968, and passed on April 14, 2025 in Ventura, California. Craig was born and raised in Ventura. He attended Juanamaria Elementary School, Balboa Middle School, and graduated from Buena High School in 1987. He worked over 35 years in the construction field. He was a lover of surfing the beaches of Ventura and fishing/hiking the Sierras. Craig was a quiet, loving soul, always greeting you with a hug and a smile, just like his Grandpa Carpenter.
Even though he passed from a stroke, we were told by One Legacy (an organ, eye and tissue donation center), he would be a great candidate. Craig's gift of organs and tissues will help improve the quality of life for many people.
Craig is survived by his parents, Jim and Diane Ellis; sister, Nicole Ellis (Ralph); niece, Morgan Ellis (James); aunt Jeanne and uncle Neil Kaska; uncle Tom and aunt Tina Ellis; aunt Sheryl & uncle Chuck Wilson; cousins Rob and Renee Ellis; along with many more cousins, family, and forever friends. He will be reunited with his sweet dog, Raina; cousin, Captain Ron Ellis; and all Craig's grandparents, family, and friends who are waiting for him in heaven.
A special thank you to all the staff at Ventura County Medical Center: emergency room, intensive care unit, neurology department, and palliative/hospice care. The doctors and
nurses were exceptional.
He has been cremated, and private services will be at a later date.
Tell everyone in your life that you love them and think of Craig when you give them that hug. We will miss our HUGS & SMILES from Craig!
Good people will be remembered as a BLESSING. Proverbs 10:7.
It was a blessing to our family that he passed during Holy Week.
Arrangements are under the direction of the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, Ventura.

I was Craigs neighbor for 15 years until 2024. I was beyond shocked today to find out he had passed. When I first moved in next door to Craig my granddaughter was around 10 and got a little lost. She knocked on Craigs door and he was so kind to her. He always had his door open and would wave or chat. He will be truly missed. I am so very sorry for your loss.

I am so saddened to hear about Craig. He was one of the good guys, who made the world a kinder place. I knew he was close to his family as he often spoke lovingly of each of you. I will miss seeing and talking with him. His love of dogs was ever present and my dog always headed to his gate first thing when we arrived home. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Ellis for raising such a good human. Rest in peace my friend.

I am so very upset to hear the passing of Craig! How absolutely terrible! He will be missed. I always enjoyed running into Craig, he was a gentle kind soul. My dog Augie will miss passing his door and receiving a special treat from Craig.
Bless his soul he will be missed! Judie
