Mateo “Mattie” Magallanes was born May 1, 1971 in Zacatecas and passed away unexpectedly on May 21, 2025 at the age of 54. Mattie arrived with his family at a very young age growing up in Cabrillo Village in Ventura where he attended local elementary and middle schools and attended Buena High School.
Mattie was gentle, humble & kind. He loved family gatherings where he was known to bust out his dance moves always making him the life of the party. He loved attending his grandson Lil Victor’s Little league games and was super proud to recently find out he had made the all stars. His grandkids were his heart and they will truly miss him.
Mattie is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Angela and their children Adriana (Carlos),Vincent (Emily),Marcelino (Alicia),Michael, Matthew, & Destinee (Victor) his legacy will live on in the hearts of his grandkids Leo, Isabel, Brooklyn, Vinnie,Mia, Joel, Nathanial, Jacob, Sophia, Victor & Adan. He also leaves behind his loving parents Angel & Evangelina, Grandmother; Josefina, Brothers Marco Antonio (Guadalupe) Danny, Beto (Virginia) Sisters; Josefina Arias (Humberto) Esmerelda Perea (Manuel) and Mother in law Gloria Martinez as well as numerous nieces,nephews, cousins, sisters and brothers in law, friends and his extended family at Harbor Freight where he worked for 27 years.
He is preceded in death by his brother Miguel Magallanes.
Mattie will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. His family is heartbroken by his loss, especially as they look forward to celebrate his daughter Adri’s upcoming wedding. His love and spirit will undoubtedly be missed and will forever cherish his memory.
A visitation will be held on Monday June 9, 2025 4pm-8pm at Perez Family Funeral Home in Camarillo and a mass will be held Tuesday Jun 10, 2025 at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Church in Ventura.
