Craig Wayne Hopkins of Cuba, Missouri was born on April 4, 1949, in Boonville, Missouri, to the union of Wayne and Junita (Pope) Hopkins. He departed this life on September 2, 2025, in Cuba, Missouri, at the age of 76 years.
Craig was united in marriage to Theresa (Quartuccio) Hopkins on December 11, 1971, in Bel-Ridge, Missouri. To this union, three daughters were born.
Craig was dedicated to his community and was a lifetime member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 513, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. His commitment extended beyond work; he was a member of the Cuba Masonic Lodge, the 32° Scottish Rite, and a Moolah Temple Shriner. Craig was a long-time member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, where he served on the parish council for several years and was involved with the Knights of Columbus.
During the later part of his professional career, he was dedicated to serving the community in the role of Executive Director of Crawford County Board for People with Developmental Disabilities.
Craig had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, and boating, but most importantly, he cherished the time spent with his family. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Craig is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Theresa; his parents, Wayne and Junita (Pope) Hopkins; and his grandparents, Oliver and Viola (Honse) (William “Tim” Tackett) Hopkins, and Henry and Iona (Marotte) Pope.
Those who remain to treasure his memory and continue his legacy include his three daughters: Michelle (Daniel) Pinnell of Cuba; Melissa (Bryan) Adams of St. James; and Nicole (Aaron) Harrison of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He is also survived by grandchildren: Mikey, Gabe, Olivia, Nate, and Aidan; as well as several great-grandchildren, niece, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 3-5 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory 904 W. Washington St., Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with Father Mark Smith as the celebrant.
Interment will follow at Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
