Kinder-Celebration of Life services honoring Craig Wayne Melton, 53, will be held at 2 o'clock p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. Mike Fontenot will officiate. Private inurnment will be held at a future date.
Craig's family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Thursday morning, February 27, 2025, from 9 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All of Craig's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Craig was a loving father and treated everyone as family, always the light in any room, the kind of person that would give you the shirt off his back, if you needed it. He would give or do anything for his children.
Craig owned and operated his own business as a carpenter. He loved rock music and was very silly. He enjoyed dancing, playing practical pranks, and joking around. Craig was known for his amazing BBQ and beef jerky.
The door to his home was always open to everyone. So many people have stories about him ranging from the kindness he showed to the wild times they shared. His pride and joy were his children, and he would speak about how proud he was often. He always pushed them to be kind, successful individuals.
Those left to cherish Craig's memory include his mother, Julie Lynn Melton; two sons, Craig Melton II and Connor Melton; one daughter, Jessie Burmaster; one brother, Henry Melton; one sister, Dawn Scott; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Craig is preceded in death by his father Charles Webb Melton.
Condolences and expressions of sympathy may be shared with Craig's family at www.ardoinfuneralhome.com or on Facebook at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
