All of Charles's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.

Charles was a lifelong resident of Kinder and a loving and revered husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was born in Eunice, LA, on February 24, 1946, to the union of Earl and Laura Belle Fontenot. Charles was a 1964 graduate of Kinder High School and a 1965 graduate of Nashville Auto Diesel College. He joined the United States Air Force in 1965 and would selflessly serve his country for 3 years before discharging in 1968. In 1982, Charles joined the United States Air Force reserves and would serve until 2004. While in the Air Force he would achieve and retire at the rank of Master Sergeant. Charles married the love of his life, Patsy Organ Fontenot on July 12, 1969. Also in 1969, he would begin farming on his family land and would do so until 1980. Charles then went to work at the Port of Lake Charles where his tenure would span until 2006 when he retired as Safety Officer. He was a lifelong member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Kinder where he developed a deep faith in our Lord, and a member of 4th degree Knights of Columbus. Charles was also a member of the Vietnam Veterans Association, the local VFW, and the National Rifle Association. He loved to spend time with his family and cherished every memory he made with them. Charles always said, "he and Patsy met and will leave at the same place, the funeral home". Charles was a kind and caring person and gave the best hugs. He will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish Charles's memory include his wife, Patsy Organ Fontenot; his son, Charles A. Fontenot, his daughter, Andrea Fontenot Crochet and husband Chad; six grandchildren, one great grandson; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Laura Belle Fontenot; and three brothers, Carl James, Dennis, and Philip E. Fontenot.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Damon, Ethan, Hunter, and Gregory Fontenot, Hine and Eric Unkel, and Kevin Fontenot.
