Craig C. Studley
1956-2025
Craig C. Studley, 68, St. Joseph, Missouri, died Saturday, June 14,2025 following unanticipated complications from successful treatment for Acute Myeloid Leukemia since March. He had achieved remission.
He was born October 30,1956 to Richard E. and Carolyn M. (Anderson) Studley in Providence, Rhode Island and lived his formative years in Duluth, Minnesota.
Studs, a nickname he loved, graduated from Duluth East High School and the University of Minnesota Duluth with degrees in both History and later, Accounting. One year of teaching and coaching high school sports was enough to send him off in another direction! While his academic achievements laid the foundation for his successful business career, he would tell you that his most valued benefit was the lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories of his years on the Greyhound and UMD Bulldog football teams.
He loved golf. If the weather was reasonable, you could find him at SJCC fine tuning his game and giving his buddies a hard time or reason to laugh. Craig was married to Alane Studley for 37 years until her death in 2022 and together with cherished friends, they traveled the world making unforgettable memories.
Craig's commitment to charity lead to his involvement with Kiwanis International, United Way, Mosaic Hospital Cancer Wellness Center, Missouri Western University Athletics and numerous other organizations.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alane; and mother, Kay.
Survivors include his father, Richard; sisters, Lynn Mackin and Sarah Boerner; nieces and nephews, Shannon Mackin, Haley (Kevin) Welch, Spencer Boerner, Conner Welch and Madelyn Welch; Mother in law Arla Engleman; brothers in law Paul Mackin, Steve Boerner and Arlo Engleman.
