Craig David Thibodeau, age 67 died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023. He was the son of Alsime and Arlene (Albright) Thibodeau, and was born on Dec. 10, 1956 in Kankakee, IL. He was raised in the Stillman Valley area and graduated from Stillman Valley High School in 1975. Craig worked over 25 years as a carpenter for the Rockford Public Schools. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, and brother. Craig enjoyed building and fixing a multitude of things and was known as a hard worker. He loved helping his daughters with many projects and home improvements. Craig enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, hunting and the outdoors. He enjoyed many vacations with friends and family. In retirement, he enjoyed many trips to his cabin in the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River. Craig taught his two daughters how to be strong independent women, all while passing on his handy skills to them. He is survived by his two daughters, Megan Thibodeau of Byron, IL, and Kristen (Michael) Boyer of Byron, IL; his parents Alsime and Arlene Thibodeau of Wisconsin; brothers Rick (Cheryl) Thibodeau and Brian Thibodeau; sister Wendy (Keith) Gritt; and 3 grandchildren: Riley and McKenna Boyer, and Amelia Hauger; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
