Craig P. Walker, passed away peacefully, on May 27, 2025 at the age of 76. Beloved husband of the late Laura Ditta Walker. Father of David B. Walker (Marcie), Scott C. Walker (Michelle) and Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Guidry (Leeallen). Grandfather of Tyler C. Walker (Breanna), Conner B. Walker, Seth C. Walker (Hanna), Brennen T. Walker, William P. Walker, Jack F. Walker, Laura A. Walker, and Emma Leigh Guidry. Great-grandfather of Hudson, Myles Craig, and Keith John. Brother of Letty Walker Bergeron (Ray), and the late Floyd “Boo Cat” Walker Jr. Son of the late Floyd B. Walker and Peggy Price Walker. Dear and devoted friend of Margaret Kohmann. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
Craig grew up on the Westbank and was a member of the first graduating class of Archbishop Shaw High School, Class of 1966. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, attended Nicholls University, Loyola New Orleans and graduated from Concordia University with his BA in Business. He was regional sales manager for Golden Books and later owned and operated the Lion’s Share Restaurant, Southland Mall in Houma for many years. He played bass for his band, Bits & Pieces / Variety, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed his horses, spending time at his beach condo and was an avid golfer. As a devout Catholic, he attended daily Mass. His favorite pastime was spending time with and spoiling his grandkids and great-grandkids. He will be sadly missed.
Visitation will take place at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 4401 Seventh Street in Marrero on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 9 AM to 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in Westwego.
