Dr. Creve Maples held a degree in Chemistry (MIT) and a PhD in Nuclear Science (UC Berkeley). He worked in both academia and the private sector, designing advanced computers and developing virtual reality systems.
Creve was one of the most fascinating people you will ever meet. A brilliant and curious mind, his eclectic, far ranging interests included everything from science, archaeology, anthropology (the older the civilization the better!), and the search for Atlantis, to chaos theory, brain functioning, and the meaning of life.
Full of scientific curiosity, love of photography and travel, for Creve, life was a place of Magic and infinite possibilities. His love of story telling made him one of the most beloved instructors at Albuquerque Oasis Lifelong Adventure, where his lectures were always captivating, thought provoking, and mind expanding.
He spent the last 37 years with his wife, Jan Maples, who was the love of his life. Their travels and mutual love of photography took them on adventures all over the world.
Creve is greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Maples (Albuquerque, NM); his son, Kevin Maples and daughter-in-law, Beril Maples (Piedmont, CA); his daughter, Alisa Maples and son-in-law, Hayden Jacobsen (Richmond, CA); his grandson, Emre Maples (Piedmont, CA); and his brother, John Maples (FL).
