Cris Lee Butts

The Best Father, Granpa, Significant Other, Brother, Friend and stranger you would ever meet, Cris Lee Butts passed away on June 22 In Ordway, CO at 59 years young. A loss so painful, finding the words to encapsulate our amazing guardian angel was almost impossible.
Born to Robert C. and Silvia J. (Vanderschaaf) Butts on April 9, 1966, in Lapuente, California. The Butts family had a gypsy soul, a trait rooted deep in Cris's bones until the very end. You could say open road and the adventures along the way were his "home". Anyone who knew him would agree.
He was always up for a good time or an adventure, no matter the distance! Especially if it included his boat on the lake or his snowboard on the mountain. He had just as many stories as he had miles under his belt. We can all honestly say he will be truly missed.
He is proceeded in death by his father, Robert Butts; his mother, Silvia; his best friend and sister, Laurel L.; sister Kitty L., and brother Duff R., his best fur friend Buster and many other friends, loved ones and pets that we can take comfort in knowing he is very happy right now.
He is lived on through his brother Todd A. Butts and his wife Denise; brother Rann D.; Linda Hammang, his significant other and best friend, her son A.J. and wife Kim Bryan, and their children; her daughter Heather and husband Casey and their children, and her son, Christopher, who was more like a son to Cris; daughter, Ashley Culver and her husband and his buddy, Keegan and his most favorite humans in the world, his grandbabies Zoe, Rory and Jax of Livingston, Tx and every single person who called him "friend" and "brother". He was a once in a lifetime gift to us all!
Celebration of Life for Cris Butts will be on July 13, 2025 at 2 pm at Hunny's in Guymon, Oklahoma. We will also be celebrating the life of his mother, Silvia and sister Laurel as well as they are all united again.
