Cruz Galindo Amaro, 77, of Fort Stockton, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, in Fort Stockton, Texas.
Cruz was born on May 3, 1948, in Alamos de San Antonio, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Tomas Galindo and Refugia Dominguez Galindo. She often spoke fondly about her little "ranchito," where she loved spending time with the animals. She especially loved the horses she rode bareback as a young girl, despite her father Tomas warning her, "te vas a caer, machetona." She also had a special love for chivos, especially at slaughter time, which remained one of her favorite meals throughout her life.
In 1968, she met the love of her life, Cipriano V. Amaro, and on June 17 of that same year they were married in Belding, Texas. They later made their permanent home in Fort Stockton, Texas, where they raised their three sons: Cipriano Jr., Arturo, and Reynaldo (rumor has it Reynaldo was found next to a dumpster and Cruz felt sorry for him, so she took him in-but that's just a rumor... or is it?).
Cruz was a firm believer in and follower of Christ. She made her faith a priority and a way of life and never hesitated to share her faith with anyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tomas Galindo; her mother, Refugia D. Galindo; and her sister, Elfida G. Padilla.
Cruz is survived by her sons: Cipriano Amaro Jr. and spouse Teri, Arturo A. Amaro and spouse Melissa, and Reynaldo L. Amaro. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Cipriano III and spouse Tracy, Eduardo and spouse Michaela, Cassandra and Ryann, Artie, Lauryn, Reynaldo Miguel and spouse Lauren, and Melinda and spouse Eusebio; as well as her great-grandchildren Jayden, Alba, Sabrina, Brayden, AJ, Leon, Macy, Bella, Gabby, Bentley, Kinsley, McKenna, Eduardo Gabriel, and Lorenzo Michael.
She is also survived by her sister Lydia Padilla, brother Alberto Galindo, brother Francisco Galindo, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cruz never met a person who didn't love her instantly.
