Cruz Salazar Obituary
Cruz "Kookie" Reyes Salazar, age 74, of Castroville, Texas, passed away on July 23, 2023, in San Antonio. Cruz was born in Hondo, Texas on May 3, 1949, to Eugenia and Tiofilo Salazar.
Cruz is preceded in death by his wife: Maria Elida Campos Salazar; parents: Eugenia Salazar, and Tiofilo Salazar; and brothers: Candelario, Frank, Manuel, Carlos, and Lupe Salazar.
Cruz is survived by his sons: Orlando Salazar (Lisa), Gilbert Salazar (Christina), and Richard Salazar (Lydia); daughters: Alma Salazar, and Anna Lisa Zepeda (Orlan); stepsister: Anna Gracia; stepbrothers: Ismael Trevino, and Roy Ontiveras; 17 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Hondo Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 9:30 a.m.
Services will conclude after mass.
Services are under the direction of Hondo Funeral Home.
