Crystal Hope LaRocca, "Tasha", 54, of Hope Mills, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Hope was born July 11, 1970, in Lumberton, NC to Patricia Hunt and Jimmy Hammond. She attended elementary school in Robeson County and graduated from Douglas Byrd High School. Hope was a wonderful daughter, mother, and friend. She never met a stranger, and her personality radiated light and life to everyone she encountered. Hope loved deeply and easily, often putting others before herself and living life on her own terms. She was dedicated to her children and worked hard for them. Affectionately called Tasha by her mother and family, and Hope by her father and friends, she answered to both names with the same devotion and love. Hope was like a son to her father-fixing things-and a true daughter to her mother in all things feminine, parenting, and home life.
Hope worked in various roles in the restaurant industry. Her excellent work ethic, ability to communicate successfully with people from diverse backgrounds, and her skills in hiring, training, and managing staff made her an asset to every organization she worked for. Her co-workers and customers became her friends, as demonstrated by the outpouring of love shown to her and her mother during her brief illness. She served as the assistant manager at Moe's restaurant in Fayetteville, NC, and was also the company trainer for newly opened restaurants in various locations.
Hope cherished life! She enjoyed spending time at the Hunt family gatherings, engaging in activities with her children and parents, and going on beach trips with her best friends, Kim, Sandy, and Karen. Some might say work was also a hobby; it's true, she loved what she did!
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Grady and Parnell Hunt, and her paternal grandparents, Joyce and Rosie Pearl Chastain.
Hope is survived by her mother, Patricia Hunt; her father, Jimmy Hammond, and his wife, Kim; her three children: Jimmy Allen Lowery, Dani Autumn Rose Foster, and Chase Davis Foster; many uncles, aunts, and cousins; three special friends: Kim Albury, Sandy Barton, and Karen Butler; and her Moe's work family.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville, NC. Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral at 2:00 PM.
