Curley Bradley Byrd, affectionately known to many as CB, was a man of service, kindness, and deep dedication to his family. He passed away on January 29, 2026. Born on June 20, 1943, in Green Cove Springs, Florida, Curley's life was defined by a profound sense of duty and a generous heart. Curley honorably served his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force, a career that included vital service in Korea and Puerto Rico. Following his military retirement, he continued to serve his community in various roles, including working for a time as a mail carrier and laboring in the retail and service industries until he was no longer physically able. A Mason, CB was known for his immense kindness and a willingness to help anyone in need, often putting the concerns of others before his own. Outside of his work and service, he was a passionate fan of the New York Giants, rarely missing a chance to cheer on his team. He was a good father who navigated life with his own human flaws, but his legacy remains one of generosity, resilience, and a steadfast spirit of helpfulness. Curley was the devoted husband of Betty Jean Hall for 62 years. He is survived by his beloved wife, their nine children, and 21 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will all carry forward his memory.
