I miss my good friend and golf buddy with every passing day. We helped each other get through many BCBSLA events that our wives had us attend. Actually we found ways to have a great time. Even writing this post has brought back deep emotions, but I’m choosing to celebrate your life and am so glad I got to share you with so many wonderful family and friends.
Love ya

It's been three years, yet it still feels like yesterday when we lost Curt. I miss his smile, his contagious laughter, his wisdom, and especially the light that he brought into every room he entered. He was one of the smartest people I knew and could always be counted on for sound advice. Lately I've wondered how he would be dealing with the COVID crisis and know somehow he would make things more tolerable. He continues to shine his light on this world in many ways and his legacy continues. I will miss Curt forever.

I worked with Curt on the $6 million America's Promise grant proposal for several months in 2016. He mediated the competing colleges very smoothly and fairly. In such a short time I was very touched that he performed flood rescues with his boat during his spare time. What a true hero.

To Dianne, Curt's beautiful children, Mr & Mrs Eysink -- The sorrow felt in learning of this great man's passing is one that calls us to examine our own lives and what we are to each other. To be even half of what Curt Eysink was (and remains)is an order too tall for most. A man of extraordinary wit, charm, kindness and ability, his life story forever sets its own example of goodness, diligence and love. In his fine family's time of mourning, let it be said that he embodied the very essence of what makes a man of respect. We all lost something when he passed, and those whose lives he touched will forever remember Curt Eysink.

To the Eysink family:
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sorrow. I met Mr. Eysink when he was the Executive Director at the Louisiana Workforce Commission where I remain employed. I met him several times attending the state conferences and at other events around the state; I held him in high regard and respected him immensely. He will be greatly missed.
But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 1 TH. 4:13 NKJV

I had the privilege of working with Curt at Louisiana Health Care Review on a post-Katrina project with evacuees who had lost everything. His big heart and compassion for their plight impressed me immediately, and his ability to cut to the chase was instrumental in making the project a success. His intellect, enthusiasm, and respect for coworkers and colleagues made him a natural leader, and he was greatly admired. The great sense of humor was lagniappe. His loss at such a young age is a tragedy, and my thoughts go to his family and loved ones.

Addie... Pops and I are so very sorry about the death of your dear father. We did not know him, but have read of what a wonderful, helpful gentleman he was. And what a great Husband and Father your Dad was. Ellie spoke highly of all of your family. Know that you and your family and Father have been in our prayers. May our Lord comfort you during this very difficult time.

My heart breaks with Louisiana's at the loss of such a strong advocate, yet I am honored to have called Curt my friend. The past week has strengthened my resolve not to let my time working for and learning from him at LWC go to waste. To everything there is a season, in life and in death.
My love and prayers will remain with Dianne, Sam, Max and Addie.

Eysink Family, My deepest sympathies are with you on the loss of Curt. I had the privilege of working with him at the Louisiana Governor's Office for a time. He always had some funny remark, or would just make an effort to say "hi" to me, a very junior colleague. He later became a trusted advisor for my current employer, Career Compass of Louisiana. He was truly dedicated to making Louisiana a better place to live and work for families. He will not be forgotten. My prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.

Curt worked on the paper with us at LSU back in the day. We spent some good times together when we were young men, over beers after putting the Reveille to bed, at old Baton Rouge haunts like the Bayou and the Caterie. He had a big laugh and a biting wit about him. He was a solid guy and a fine reporter. My most sincere condolences to Dianne and the kids and all of his family. Godspeed old friend.

I worked with Curt and we had many conversations over several years. He was quick to see through the smoke screens to the real issues and always sought positive solutions. His humor was savvy and spot on and he could laugh at himself in the middle of it all. He was one of a kind and he will be sorely missed by all.

While I didn't know Curt well, I had the tremendous privilege of working with him on a recent project. His presence was profound: it wasn't just competence and credibility, it was wisdom - the mark of a man who knew the answer was always in moving together towards the mission, and doing so with a smile because it was the right way.
Louisiana is a better place because of Curt's presence and commitment. He was truly a joy to know even briefly, and his impact is real and indelible.
