Curtis Lee Benton went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Curtis was born on June 8, 1953, in Halifax County Virginia, to Clifton and Helen Benton. Shortly thereafter, his family moved to Idaho, where Curtis was raised in Boise and developed a lifelong love for the outdoors and adventure. After graduating from high school, Curtis enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served for 13 years as a Boiler Technician Petty Officer First Class. His naval service took him around the world, including deployments to the Philippines, Japan, and Hawaii-experiences that fueled his adventurous spirit.
While home on leave, Curtis met the love of his life, Cynthia. Their marriage became one of the greatest adventures of all, marked by love, faith, and companionship. Following his honorable service, Curtis and Cynthia returned to Boise, where he worked for Amalgamated Sugar Company and later retired from Air Equipment Company.
Curtis was an outdoor enthusiast who truly made Idaho his playground. He loved camping, fishing, and taking long rides on his Harley. He also found joy in restoring classic cars and sharing his love of music. Curtis played music at House of God Bethel House of Prayer, where he was baptized and remained strong in faith.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Helen Benton, and by his beloved wife, Cynthia. He is survived by his brother Bobby Benton; and his sisters, Roena Torres and Delores Benton and his beloved dog, George.
Curtis will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, dedication to family, love of music, and unwavering faith. This loss is immeasurable, but so is the love he left behind.
