Curtis Emil Cook, 81, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025, at his home in West Jordan, Utah, surrounded by his loving family.
A lifelong resident of West Jordan, Curtis deeply cherished his hometown. He was born on December 1, 1943, the youngest child of Owen Lloyd and Donna Parker Cook. Curtis graduated from high school in 1962 and soon after was called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Hawaiian Islands—a place and people that forever held a special place in his heart.
Following his mission, Curtis pursued his education at Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles, California. It was there he met the love of his life, Judy Ann Bobchalk. They were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple on April 21, 1967, and shared a beautiful life together for over five decades.
Curtis proudly served in the National Guard from 1965 to 1971, completing his training at Fort Polk, Louisiana. After returning home, he established Cook Chiropractic, where he dedicated himself to caring for his community until his retirement at the age of 80.
Curtis and Judy raised five children: Dean, Dan, Lisa, Kristie, and Darin. He was a devoted father and grandfather, known for his wisdom, humor, and love for family. His children and grandchildren treasure the memories of growing up with a father whose guidance, kindness, and faith shaped their lives.
He is preceded in death by his sweetheart Judy, his son Darin Andy Cook, granddaughter Baylie Mae Larsen, parents Owen and Donna Cook, and his brother Calvin Cook.
Curtis is survived by his children: Dean (Leisa) Cook of Vernal, Utah; Daniel Cook of Salem, Oregon; Lisa (Wayne) Larsen of West Jordan, Utah; and Kristie Cook of West Jordan, Utah. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, his sister JoAnn Hardy of Apple Valley, Utah, and brother Kay Cook (Judy) of West Jordan, Utah.
Curtis will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his love of service, and the strength and compassion with which he lived his life. His legacy will continue through the family he loved so dearly.
