Curtis Allen Cupp, 60, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

He was born on June 24, 1963, in Alexandria.

Allen's commitment to helping others began early in his life. After completing his high school education, he pursued higher studies and earned a bachelor of science degree in social work from Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg. He further enhanced his knowledge and skills by attending Blue Ridge Community College in Weyers Cave and Mary Baldwin University's Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences in Fishersville.

As a care coordinator at UVA Cancer Center, Allen played a pivotal role in providing compassionate support to patients during their difficult journey with cancer. His professionalism and dedication were unmatched as he tirelessly worked to ensure that every individual received the care they deserved. Allen had an innate ability to connect with people, putting them at ease even during challenging times.

Outside of work, Allen made time for the things that brought him joy. He had a profound love for dogs and pets, often finding solace and companionship surrounded by them.

Allen will forever be remembered as a beloved son, cherished friend, devoted husband, step-brother, brother-in-law, and colleague. His presence enriched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Curtis Jay and Cindy Cupp; his husband, Darryl Wayne Jones; his step-sister, Amanda Sprouse; and his brother-in-law, Carlton Jones.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Margie Marie Rankin Cupp.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
