Curtis "Richard" Force, born on January 4, 1942, in Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on February 19, 2026. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose life was marked by unwavering devotion to family, faith, and laughter.
Richard was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Sanderson, where he cultivated deep friendships and a strong faith. His infectious sense of humor and great attitude made every interaction memorable, and he was always ready with a warm smile and a joke to share. He was, above all, a loving family man who cherished the moments spent with his loved ones.
A proud father, Richard is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda "Kay" Force, daughters Donna (Bobby) Hall and Debbie (Chan) Prevatt. As a grandfather, he admired his grandsons, KC (Manda) Prevatt and Dylan (Genie) Hall, and cherished his granddaughter, Kristen (Jeremiah) Iverson. He found immense joy in being a papa to his great-grandchildren, Knox, Sammy, Kamp, and River, treasuring every moment spent with them.
Richard had many hobbies and interests that filled his days with purpose. He relished early morning fishing trips and enjoyed bowling with his grandkids, creating lasting memories along the way. His affinity for the outdoors extended to "piddling" around, whether it was working on projects or enjoying the beauty of saltwater fishing and farming on his land. An ardent fan of sports, he loved watching the Florida Gators and Miami Dolphins, and he found great joy in listening to or working on his CB radio. He was also an automotive enthusiast who could spend hours tinkering and working on cars, and he often delighted in drinking coffee throughout the day.
Richard’s proudest accomplishments were rooted in his family, with being a papa at the forefront. The warmth and love he gave to those around him will forever be remembered by his surviving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Riley Force (brother), Shirley Fowler (sister), and his longtime companion, his dog, Luke.
A graveside service to honor Richard will be held on February 24, 2026, at Santa Fe Cemetery in Hampton, Florida, with Pastor Roy Vining officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather at the cemetery at 1:00 PM, to celebrate the life of Richard.
As we remember Curtis "Richard" Force, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life enriched by faith, family, and cherished experiences that will resonate in our hearts for years to come. His legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know him.
