Curtis Wilson Holland, age 79 of Rocky Mount passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Friendship Health and Rehab, South, surrounded by family. He was born April 26, 1945 son of the late Grady Wilson Holland and Vickie Perdue Holland. Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Doris Quinn Holland; twin daughters, Angela (Angie) Kay Holland, and Kristy Holland Call (Brian); three grandchildren, Olivia Grace Call, Madison (Maddie) Lydia Call, and Colton Michael Call; sister, Margie Johnson McGuire; nieces, Michele Johnson Bright and Inglath Johnson Cooper (Mac); nephew, Brent Johnson (Karmela); great-nieces, Lola Cooper, Kavvi Cooper, Tattie Cooper, Nadia Cooper, and Beth Johnson; and two great-nephews, Owen Bright and Alex Johnson.
Curtis served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966-1968 and retired from Virginia Department of Transportation after 35 plus years. Throughout his life, he enjoyed hunting, playing and coaching softball, playing golf, watching VA Tech Football, bowling, walking, going to the YMCA and taking trips and vacations with family and friends. He especially enjoyed riding on the Blue Ridge Parkway and off- season trips to the beach. Curtis was very humorous and you couldn’t be around him and not smile. He was admired by all as a strong, faithful and loving man. He loved his wife and family with all his heart and he will be truly missed. He was saved and baptized on the same day as his twin girls and we look forward to seeing him again one day in heaven.
