Mr. Postell Curtis Key, Jr., age 81 of Panama City Beach, Florida passed away Sunday, May 12, 2024 at HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital in Panama City, Florida.
A son of the late Postel Curtis Key and Francis Ford Key, he was born February 7, 1943 in Augusta, Georgia having lived most of his life in Georgia and in Florida. Curtis was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, Chief Petty Officer, having served 26 years. He actively aided with many conflicts and was a Vietnam Veteran. Curtis was a Free Mason and a member of Chamblee Sardis Lodge #444 and a life member of the VFW Post 10555. He loved his lodge brothers and spoke of them frequently. Curtis was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was exceedingly proud of his family and loved them dearly. Curtis will be remembered for his smile and humor and will truly be missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 28, 2024, 2 o'clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Brandon Key officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, 1 p.m. until the service time at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Masonic Home of Georgia Operations, Attn: In Memory of Postell Curtis Key, Jr. 1417 Nottingham Drive, Macon, Georgia 31211.
Interment will follow in the Tugalo Baptist Church Cemetery with The Reverend Ricky McFarlin officiating. Masonic Rites at the graveside by Toccoa Masonic Lodge #309, and Military Honors by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard and the V.F.W. Post 4346 Honor Guard.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024, 11 o'clock a.m. at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 2608 15th Street. Panama City, Florida with The Reverend Brandon Key and The Reverend Charles Key officiating.
