Roy Craig Jr.

Mr. Roy Craig, Jr., age
97, of Poplar Street, Toc-
coa, passed away Monday,
Feb. 16, 2026, at his resi-
dence surrounded by his
family.
A son of the late Roy
Little Craig, Sr. and Win-
nie Bell Pilgrim Craig, he
was born Jan. 20, 1929, in
Franklin County, Georgia,
having lived all his life in
Stephens County. He was
a U.S. Army veteran, hav-
ing served during the Ko-
rean War, receiving Kore-
an Service Medal with two
Bronze Stars and the Unit-
ed Nations Service Medal.
He was employed with
Toccoa Manufacturing,
Snyder Brothers and Rico
Coating before his retire-
ment. He was a member of
New Hope Baptist Church.
He loved gardening, drink-
ing coffee, sharing war sto-
ries and was an avid
golfer, Atlanta Braves fan,
Georgia Bulldog fan and
NASCAR fan.
In addition to his par-
ents, he was preceded in
death by his siblings,
Doris Weaver, Sara
Carter, Billie Cheek,
Agnes Stamey, Anna Ram-
sey and William Craig.
He is survived by his
wife of the home, Bernice
Imogene "Jean" Craig;
daughters and sons-in-law,
Melissa and Jonathan Ott-
away, Sonya Craig, Donna
and Roger Grafton and
Rhonda and Charles Steele
all of Toccoa; six grand-
children, 13 great-grand-
children and two great-
great-grandchildren; sis-
ter, Patsy Wilbanks, of
Toccoa; brother, Talmadge
Craig, of Toccoa.
Funeral services will be
Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, 2
p.m. in the Hillcrest
Chapel of the Acree-Davis
Funeral Home with the
Rev. Jewell Gaines and the
Rev. David Sosebee offici-
ating. The following gen-
tlemen will serve as pall-
bearers: Roger Wilbanks,
Randy Wilbanks, Daniel
Kellar, Tim Canady,
Kaden Canady and Max
Brock.
The family received
friends at the Acree-Davis
Funeral Home on Wednes-
day, from 6-8 p.m. Online

Interment will follow in
the New Hope Baptist
Church Cemetery with
military honors by the
U.S. Army Honor Guard
and the V.F.W. Post 4346
