Curtis L Madding

In Memory of Dr. Curtis L. Madding 1939 ~ 2025 Dr. Curtis L. Madding, a long time Tehachapi area resident died at the age of 85 on Feb. 17,2025Curt was born at Tehachapi hospital in 1939, one of 5 siblings to grow up in his home on D Street. As a young man he worked at Monolith Cement plant, attended and graduated from Tehachapi High School. In the 1960s, Curt graduated from Dental School in the San Francisco Bay area. He had 2 children and practiced dentistry in the Tehachapi community as well as working full time as Chief Dental Officer at California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi for most of his dental career. He served as Scoutmaster for the local Tehachapi Boy Scout group for 10 years. Later in life he and his wife Lois operated a dental office in Tehachapi, and for his final employment he evaluated Denti-Cal practices in care homes throughout Kern and surrounding counties. Curt was a skilled model builder and enjoyed flying model gliders. He also loved mountaineering, fishing, firearms, and learning the history of war. He was a staunch Lutheran, active in church council, and choir, and an unmovable mountain when it came to his personal convictions.Curt is survived by his younger brother Mike as well as 4 children: Janet, Larry, Kathleen, and Patrick.We love you Brother/Curt/Dad, and we will miss you greatly, but more importantly we rejoice that you have now moved to the best place of all: The Glorius Presence of Our Lord There will be a Memorial Service for Dr. Madding: March 1,2025 at 11:00am at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 329 S Mill St. Tehachapi, CA 93561 Wood Family Funeral Service in charge of arrangements
