Obituary published on Legacy.com by Scott Funeral Home - Alvin on Nov. 10, 2025.
Judy Elaine Madding, a loving wife, devoted mom, and proud "Maw Maw," passed away peacefully, surrounded by the family she adored - and who adored her right back.
Judy was 75 and a life-long resident of Alvin Tx….no really, born and raised! She was the beloved daughter of Richard and Willie, and sister to Odell, Cleta, Nell, Gus, Annie, Virgel, Sue, RD, Robert, Charlotte, Buster and Jimbo. Her heart belonged to her husband of 55 years, Donnie, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and a partnership that could survive anything - including each other's quirks. She was the proud mom of Doug (and his fiancée Laura), Angie (and her husband Martin), and her youngest daughter, Marty. Her family was her greatest joy, and she loved them even on the days they tested her patience… which, to be fair, happened often, lol.
Judy loved being "Maw Maw" - a title she wore like a crown. She was the incredibly proud grandmother of Madalyn, Chloe, Loryn, Audrey, Finn, and Journey, each one convinced they were her favorite! She loved watching her great-grandson Jaxton grow and giggle and was already bragging about his baby sister, Alaia, who will arrive in February -
A creative soul to her core, Judy could turn fabric, rhinestones, glue into something beautiful. If you knew her long enough, you probably received a quilt, a craft, or a homemade surprise - and if you didn't, you were likely 'on her list.'
Judy had a warmth that made everyone feel at home - not just because she welcomed you in, but because she made you feel like you belonged. She gave hugs that fixed bad days, listened without judgment (unless it was truly needed), and told stories that brought both tears and laughter.
She showed her family unconditional love, patience, and the importance of sticking together - and she did it with humor, heart, and just the right amount of "Now listen here…"
Though she has gone to her heavenly home, Judy's love is stitched into the lives she touched - in the laughter of her grandchildren, the crafts she poured herself into, and the memories that will forever bring a smile.
Rest peacefully, sweet Judy - our loving Mom and Maw Maw. Your love will always be the heart of our family… and don't worry, we'll try to behave. (No promises.)
With love, from all your favorites
