Curtis C. McMillan, age 90, of Surrency passed away Friday, October 4, 2024 at Hospice of South Georgia in Jesup.
Mr. McMillan was born December 5, 1933 in Appling County to the late Zara McMillan and the late Mary Ann Nipper McMillan. He was a retired contract laborer at Plant Hatch and was a 50-year member of Laborer’s Local 515. He was a faithful member of Memorial Free Will Baptist Church where he served as song leader for over 30 years. He was an avid gardener, and, with his green thumb, he could grow anything. He also loved to fish and play the harmonica.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Bobbie Carter McMillan of Surrency; daughters, Deborah (Jeff) Adams of Jesup and Jan (Michael) Roberson of Blackshear; grandchildren, Regan (Caleb) Williams of Blackshear, Sonal Adams & fiancé, Caleb Alvarez of Statesboro, Lily Adams of Jesup, and Riley Roberson of Athens; sisters-in-law, Beverly McMillan of Baxley and Carolyn McMillan of Jacksonville, FL; and a host of other relatives, neighbors and friends. He is also survived by Janice Wilson, who he loved like a daughter.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 7, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Alan Stalvey, Rev. Stephen Bene, and Rev. Ronnie Rentz officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jeff McMillan, Jamie McMillan, Richie McMillan, Jonathan McMillan, Don Foster, and Greg Mann.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Hardee’s Breakfast Club, Members of Memorial Free Will Baptist Church, Delores Mann, Fran Foster, Faye Hattaway, Nell Carter, & Mr. & Mrs. Bernie Kent.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Georgia 1625 Sunset Blvd. Jesup, Georgia 31545.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
