Grady Earl Yawn, age 85, of Baxley passed away Monday, November 3, 2025 at his residence under the care of Comfort Care Hospice.
Mr. Yawn was born September 10, 1940 in Appling County to the late Joe Brown Yawn and the late Lotice Beasley Yawn. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and was a retired Accounting Supervisor for Ryder Trucking Company. Mr. Yawn was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed working outside in his shop. He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Carter.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Karen Yawn of Baxley; daughter, Kimberly (Bryan) Johnson of Baxley; sons, Robert (Trish) Yawn of O’Fallon, IL and Richard Yawn of McKinney, TX; brother, Gary Yawn of Hoboken. Seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 7, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Chip Woodruff and Rev. Rick Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Asbury Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Val “Joseph” Tope, Grady Sweeney, Mike Teasdale, Lance Kennedy, Ruby Carter, Jr and Brian Medders.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Encouragers Sunday School Class of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
