Matias Perez

Mr. Matias Perez, age 83, of Baxley, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025, at McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, Texas. Mr. Perez was born on February 24, 1942, in Progresso Coahuilla, Mexico. He was a resident of Appling County for over 30 years; was employed by Baxley Sunbelt Blueberry for over 20 years, and then worked with Miles Blueberries, continuing his passion in farming and agriculture until he retired. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Concepcion Perez; his parents, Epifanio Perez Gonzalez and Leonor Perez (Barrera); a brother, Rogelio Perez; a sister, Olivia Gonzalez; and a son, Arnoldo Perez.
Survivors include his sons, Marco (Angela) Perez of Alma, Isaias (Stephanie) Perez and Juan (Ann) Perez of Baxley; daughters, Maria (Ignacio) Pina, Sara (Jose) Pina, and Yesenia (Juan) Pina of Baxley; brother, Guadalupe Perez of Mexico; sisters, Ofelia Carrisalez of Texas, Elva Gonzalez of Texas, and Juany Perez of Mexico; along with twenty two grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Active Pallbearers are Emmanuel Pina, Ricardo Pina, David Pina, Tony Pina, Christian Pina, and Juan Pina, Jr.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Nobles Funeral Home with visitation an hour before the service.
Interment will follow in the Omega Cemetery.
