Curtis Neidig Obituary

Curtis Neidig, 89, of Taylor passed away June 9, 2025 at the SPJST Skilled Nursing Center in Taylor. He was born in the Kimbro community, Travis County Texas to Robert and Elsie (Heine) Neidig on August 31, 1935.

He grew up an Elgin Wildcat, class of 1956. He participated in football, track, and FFA. In 1952, Curtis won grand champion at the Capital Area Livestock Show with his 1,000-pound Hereford steer.

In 1960 he married Elamarie Menk of Taylor, who preceded him in death in 2004 after 44 years of marriage. Together they raised a family in the Coupland/Taylor area.

After Elamarie's passing, Curtis was blessed with a new partner, Betty Lou (Hornsby) Warren. They shared a life together for 17 years until Betty's passing in March, 2024.

Curtis served in the Texas Army National Guard from 1953 until his retirement in 1994.

His greatest passion in life was his cattle! He would gladly talk cattle to anyone at any time!

He was also preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roy. He is survived by his sons, Rodney and Brian both of Taylor, and numerous other family and friends.

In Curtis' memory, memorials may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Taylor.
